“Ultimate Do-It-Yourself”

How to make the small signs using our 24x18 White 4mm Coroplast Squares:

Materials needed: (*denotes available from www.SignWarehouse.com)

Jigsaw with Bosch U101B3 Blades (any local hardware store)

Scissors- for cutting vinyl from roll

*Felt Squeegee -3”x4” Blue Felt Squeegee HT-AZ-Z1058-S

Here are our recommended steps:

1. Using scissors, cut your images from the 48" roll (not exactly around image contour just enough to separate it from the roll)

2. Take your image and remove the backing paper.

TIP: Remember to clean your substrate well with soap and water before applying vinyl

3. Lay your image starting at one corner, onto the plastic. Use your squeegee to flatten out the image from the middle out to the corners. This will release any air bubbles that may be trapped under the vinyl. Make sure the flutes in the plastic are going in the right direction so when you apply the image it is straight up and down when a stake is inserted up into the flutes.

4. Using a jigsaw, cut around the image contours, leaving approximately one quarter inch around the image. Make sure you leave enough plastic around areas in the image that may create a problem with bending of the plastic. For instance, leave areas around thin necks and areas around small details of an image.

That's it...you're done!

TIP: If you are uncomfortable using a jigsaw, you can use a box cutter or razor blade to cut your plastic. Just be careful not to cut yourself! Using a cutter with a large hand grip works best. You can find nice ones at craft stores.

How to make a large sign using a 4'x8' White 10mm Coroplast Sheet:

Materials needed: (*denotes available from www.SignWarehouse.com)

Jigsaw with Bosch U101B3 Blades (any local hardware store)

*Hand Laminator 50” BIG Squeegee

HT-SBD-1-50

48”x3” Cardboard Tube

Here are our recommended steps:

1. Cut off the large image vinyl from your roll. Put each large image vinyl section aside for laying.

TIP: Remember to clean your substrate well with soap and water before applying vinyl

2. Lay your large image section of vinyl out on your coroplast sheet. Tape the one edge of your vinyl onto the plastic.

3. Using your cardboard tube, roll up the other end of the vinyl onto the tube.

4. Place your big squeegee at the end of the vinyl that is taped down on your substrate. Lay the rolled up vinyl and tube onto the “U” channel on the big squeegee.

5. Peel back the backing paper on the vinyl that is taped down on the plastic.

6. Using pressure, push the squeegee up the plastic making sure to apply pressure and allow the tube to roll out the vinyl.

7. Once you reach the other end of the plastic, you are done. Make sure there are no air bubbles. If you find any air bubbles you can use a pin to release them.

8. Using a jigsaw, cut around the image contours, leaving approximately one quarter inch around the image. Make sure you leave enough plastic around areas in the image that may create a problem with bending of the plastic. For instance, leave plastic around areas like thin necks and areas around small details of an image.

You are done!

“Basic Do-It-Yourself”

How to make the small signs using our
Small Digital Vinyl Prints and pre-cut Sign Shapes:

Materials needed: (*denotes available from www.SignWarehouse.com)

*Felt Squeegee -3”x4” Blue Felt Squeegee HT-AZ-Z1058-S

Spray bottle with water and a dab of dish soap

 Here are our recommended steps:

1. Take your pre-cut image and peel it from the backing paper, just like a sticker.

TIP: Remember to clean your substrate well with soap and water before applying vinyl

2. Apply a light mist of water onto the pre-cut sign shape. Be careful not to over saturate the plastic.

3. Lay your vinyl onto the sign shape. The water and soap allows you to move the vinyl around and reposition if needed.

4. Using squeegee, start in the middle of the image and flatten out to the corners and edges of the image. Make sure you are pushing out all the water under the vinyl. If you do not get all the water out from under the vinyl, you may get bubbles that do not go away or your vinyl may not dry completely.

You are done!

Care of prints: DO NOT use solvent based cleaners on prints!Simple water cleaning works best. We do not advise using any additional spray adhesive or Glue to lay the prints.
